Why fight with these guys over who gets control of our massive 4 trilion dollar budget. the appeal of liberalism and leftism is in it’s social liberalism not statism. you guys won the culture wars but lost the economic one, mainly due to stuff like the econmic caluculation problem and the laffer curve. the shortened version being that it’s pretty much impossible for states to plan economies because demand isn’t uniform and that taxation past a certain point leads to less production.
I think if democrats could embrace spending cuts obama would be back up near 70 or 80 percent approval. I don’t thik that will happen and people are going to look for something cheaper. the growing deficit and unemployment outweighs any alleged justice you can provide the working class and this is what we saw in Massachusetts.
