Henry Lamb Has a Warning Which We All Must Adhere To Regarding GPS Units

Are you lacking in your daily does of fear-mongering idiocy? WELL WE HAVE THE SOLUTION FOR YOU! World Nut Daily has a new and startling article basically saying that the Government will be tracking us via GPS units, because of what… FEMA? Who knows.

The proposed GPS road tax system could easily be programmed to listen to and record conversations inside any vehicle. It could stop a vehicle, lock the occupants inside and notify the “jack boots” that the occupants were en route to a tea party.

Okay, I’m sorry here, but your Editor is now going to speak in the first person.

I have no idea what the hell is wrong with these people. Myself, as well as many other people, have tried to reason with these tea party freak-shows often enough that a headache does not aptly describe the amount of lunacy that comes over the airwaves. Can somebody honestly believe that the Government will be TRACKING US through GPS units on the way to a “tea party” bullshit-event? Please, people. I mean C’MON. This is fucking absurd. The fact that World Nut Daily plays so hard into this insanity bit is reprehensible, if not in need of shock-therapy. GO ON SIR:

The Democratic socialists who have taken control of the federal government are giddy with their power. Their view of utopia is government control of virtually everything. In Cuba, people who owe their livelihood to Castro are not about to vote for anyone but Castro. The Democratic socialists are creating a society in which the vast majority of people are dependent upon the government for their livelihood. These are the people who are most likely to keep the Democratic socialists in power.

Read the above, people. Really. Read it. He is comparing this place to Cuba. Amazing.

It is not always possible or even desirable to reason with people. Sometimes the answer is just to punch the idiots in the throat and accept the consequences. To illustrate:

Thru most of the 1990’s I owned a fairly successful business in exurban Orange County NY. The Repukes of the local Chamber of Commerce would regularly visit me to try to get me to support such nonsense as Newt’s proposal to scrap the US Tax code and figure out later what the US Gov was going to do for revenue. Thru visit after I attempted to explain that their proposals were as STUPID as their presence was ANNOYING. In vain. In the end I set my dogs on them. And lo and behold they never troubled me again. Yes there were subsequent interactions with the local constabulary. A lawyer had to be paid etc.
    Still – totally worth it.

GOP wives could monitor their husbands this way.
    Just saying.

I hope that you got the dogs vaccinated afterwards. Who knows what little nasties they could pick up from biting the stupids. I know I always do.

I’m confused. Are they putting GPS in butt plugs now?

It’s even more ridiculous, given that someone would notice if the GPS box had a microphone. It’s not like some concerned citizen isn’t going to completely take apart the box and analyse all the components. For examples, see various iPhone websites.

Although, I don’t see the point in a GPS-based road tax system anyway. If you want to tax people more for travelling more miles, increase the tax on petrol. That has the side effect of encouraging more fuel-efficient cars too, and it’s a lot cheaper to implement.

Let’s just say that They know exactly where you are sitting with your computer right now. And you should really consider more fiber.

@x111: Bravo! I would be screwed in your situation. Lord knows I’ve tried but I can’t get my five cats to attack anyone.

And maybe these clowns would be surprised that the things they fear about cars & GPS are not only possible but already implemented by some folks. With the proper software family members (or others) can easily be tracked if they’re carrying a cellphone or have that built-in emergency system standard in some new cars. They can lock or unlock your car now. They can keep it from starting now. Unless these clowns have a time machine (which I don’t consider likely) & they are going back to fight these developments before they start, they are way behind the curve.

Um, you all are aware that the insurance companies have gotten black boxes installed in a majority of new car models, right? The kind that will tell police whether you have been speeding up to the point of impact? Or if you braked at all? I’ll stick with my non-electronic clunker, thank you…

The point is, we have much more to fear from the monied interests than from some/any government agency, rife with incompetence and bbureaucracy… Unregulated American businesses (as the insurance industry is) are ruthlessly effective, by contrast.
