The strapping gentleman in the photo there is John Lott, and he is a professor! In Maryland! It’s just a rumor, but someone SAID a while ago (and we don’t know who did) that John gets his inspiration for writing from eating extacy while drunkenly banging younger men (but that’s surely hearsay). Anyway, he is writing things now. THREE THINGS! And his latest is some of the battiest, craziest and impalpable works of art that has ever seen a publisher. Give this man a Peabody! Now!

Last Friday, Lawrence Summers, the White House Economics adviser, blamed a fearful public for dragging the economy down and said that there was an “excess of fear.” Summers is right that an “excess of fear” has really harmed the economy and that that the downturn has been much sharper than it had to be.
Surely everyone knows where this one’s going:
– During Obama’s Feb. 18 address on the mortgage crisis, he said that we were in a crisis 24 times, Frequently describing in apocalyptic terms that the crisis would drag down the entire economy.
–During Obama’s first and only national press conference he talked about us being in a crisis 12 times and noted that it was an “unprecedented crisis” — something sure to instill confidence.
– In his first radio address to the nation on Jan. 24, Obama claimed, “We begin this year and this Administration in the midst of an unprecedented crisis that calls for unprecedented action.”
WHO IS THE REAL BARACK OBAMA? HE IS HOLDING PRESS CONFERENCES ABOUT THE ‘CRISIS’ TO DISCUSS THE ‘CRISIS?’ SHAME.
Apparently John Lott (previously read: Galt) failed to adhere the statements of the Obama administration, or even Obama, when discussing the fear-mongering that the Obama people are actually not doing.
So, before poking holes into the strapping gentleman’s assertion, let’s all take a gander at one of his two publications:

Let’s quickly describe what real fear-mongering is, for the kids. (NONE OF THIS ACTUALLY HAPPENED. YOU DON’T REMEMBER ANY OF IT).
So a couple of assholes from Saudi Arabia and Pakistan get a bunch of money from another even larger asshole and slam a couple of airplanes into a number of important buildings. The next day there is a bill on the floor to legalize wire-tapping, greatly reduce personal freedoms, and pretty much wipe the legislature’s ass with the Constitution (rEVOLution??). Anyway, after this, fake-anthrax is released everywhere, two wars are started (one on false pretenses), a meter is created to judge how afraid we should be on any given day, numerous permanent acts destroy age-old rights, Habeas Corpus is annihilated, and pretty much everybody thinks that their local Walmart is going to be the subject of the next major terrorist attack.
If Obama was in fact fear-mongering, he’s going about it all wrong.
