Do you live in Massachusetts? If you do then Finneran must be a familiar face! He has quite an impressive record! He was Speaker of your State’s House of Representatives, he served as president of the Massachusetts Biotechnology Council, and he worked up a solid reputation in the last two years of being a repugnant, awful liar. What a fulfilled life!
Finneran’s legal problems began when he testified in a lawsuit that he had nothing to do with developing a statewide legislative redistricting map. He was sentenced to 18 months’ unsupervised probation and a $25,000 fine. The plea cost him his nearly $500,000-a-year job as president of the Massachusetts Biotechnology Council, a job he took in October 2004 after eight years as speaker.
Three days after being kicked off of his Biotechnology post, he was given a radio show, so don’t worry! He’s okay!
Of course it should also be noted that he is a “Conservative Democrat.” He requested a pardon from what’s-his-face, (our last POTUS), and was not granted one, so now the State Bar of Massachusetts wants to take away his license! Oh know!
In a decision released this morning, the state’s 12-member Board of Bar Overseers ruled that Finneran should face the same penalty as any other attorney convicted of a felony.
TERRIBLE INJUSTICE! He deserves to be compensated for his heroic actions of aiding and abetting his dishonest shit-head friends. But NOOOOO. He shant not receive the glorious crown of righteousness. Instead, he will be persecuted. What an example to us all.
Panel recommends that former Speaker Finneran be disbarred (Boston Globe)

You lazy person you.
“Finneran rose to the position of Speaker without the support of the majority of his own party. He became the 83rd holder of that office in 1996, when he defeated Democratic Majority Leader Richard Voke, the favorite to win, by obtaining all 35 votes of the Republican caucus as well as 56 of 121 Democratic votes (91 of 158 votes in total).[2] As Speaker, he was known for his fiscal conservatism; he insisted on balanced budgets, and created that state’s “rainy day fund.” He was also known for having somewhat more conservative positions on some social issues than most Massachusetts Democrats, and for his autocratic leadership style, which earned him the nickname “King Tom” from some detractors.[3] In his 2001 redistricting proposal (see below), some believed that Finneran attempted to strike back against some of his critics by trying to eliminate their districts. For example, his initial proposal would have combined Newton’s two main House districts and would have forced incumbent Representatives Kay Khan and Ruth Balser to run against each other. Both Khan and Balser were vocal opponents of Finneran, and it was only after the protests of many women’s advocacy groups that Finneran relented”
He’s a Republican. Sorry chum.

You do not know what you are talking about. Tom Finneran is a democrat, a conservative one, but a democrat nonetheless. I cannot remember the last time the speaker of our house was a republican.
Well damn me to hell! You are right on.
He is a “conservative.”
I will fix now, for you.
/fixed. Thanks.
